Kwara State Governor; Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq receives UN Women award- RHHF

The Executive Governor of Kwara state, the first lady and Commissioners flanked by the UN Women Country Representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Beatrice Eyong, the Program Specialist for UN Women Governance, the UN Women Program Manager for the Advance Women’s Political Participation Project, the Chief Executive Officer; RHHF, the Grants Specialist; RHHF, and the Program Officer on the UN Women Advance Women’s Political Participation Project in Kwara State at the deliberations on UN Women projects and projections held on 29th May, 2024 at the Kwara state government House, Ilorin, Nigeria.

UN Women Country Representative to Nigeria; Beatrice Eyong has recognized Kwara state Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq as UN Women Global HeforShe Champion.

The award according to the Country Representative came for the governor’s gender equality and women empowerment.

Eyong urged the governor to push for women candidacy in the forthcoming Local government election as he has done with appointment. She called on the governor to use his position as the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) Chairman to encourage other State governors to replicate more women representative in governance across the states. Abdulrazaq assured the country representative who led other team members of future partnership in the state.
